My heart is broken for these communities and people who are stranded in catastrophic conditions that, in many cases, will take years to recover from. Ginger Clark: I am a North Carolina native and spent my childhood growing up in the foothills of Appalachia. The Blue Ridge mountains and the community of people that call it home, have welcomed me into their backyard my entire life.
